Field & Shop Blasting, Coatings & Painting for Ohio Industry

Ohio has one of the deepest, most diverse manufacturing economies in the country: primary steel and metal fabrication, chemicals and polymers, automotive and heavy machinery, power generation and transmission, food and beverage processing, and a large construction market. Every one of these sectors depends on corrosion control across structural steel, tanks, vessels, piping, and containment. Our crews mobilize along the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/90) into Toledo and Cleveland and down I-75 to Dayton and Cincinnati, staging multi-day deployments so travel never slows the scope.

Industrial Blasting

Industrial Blasting, Coating & Painting in Ohio BlasTekOhio’s steel, energy, and manufacturing assets demand surface prep that holds the specification, in the shop or in the field. BlasTek strips rust, scale, and coatings and cuts the specified anchor profile on structural steel, tanks, vessels, and piping via industrial sandblasting and mobile sandblasting. For occupied or sensitive facilities, dustless blasting and dry ice blasting clean with far less airborne particulate and no secondary waste. We deploy portable equipment, media, and engineered containment statewide, verifying cleanliness and profile on every job.

Industrial Coating

Water, energy, and process assets across Ohio need coating systems matched to immersion, chemical, and high-temperature service. BlasTek applies immersion-grade tank linings and high-performance protective coatings engineered for the exposure. Our inspectors verify profile, soluble-salt levels, and film thickness, and perform holiday testing so linings are continuous. We coat on-site around your production or outage window, or in our controlled shop.

Industrial Painting

BlasTek’s industrial painting protects Ohio’s steel, tanks, and equipment and extends asset service life. We apply paint systems to specification with continuous film-thickness monitoring, in the field or in the shop. Fabrications that can travel run through our shop painting line and Grand Rapids powder coating facility for high-throughput, durable finishes. Mobile crews handle on-site painting for the large, fixed assets Ohio industry runs on.

Advantages of Dry Ice

Advantages of Dry Ice

When it comes to dry ice blasting, there are several advantages associated with a technology that safely removes contaminants without causing harm to the underlying substrate. For example:

Non-Abrasive

It’s not so much the impact of the dry ice that cleans a surface, but rather, the kinetic energy released from the heat transfer upon impact. The impacted surface is literally frozen by the dry ice pellets which, in turn, causes the weakened contaminants to lose their adhesiveness and break free from the substrate during dry ice blasting.

No Residual Media

Since dry ice goes directly from a solid to a gas upon impact, there is no secondary cleanup with dry ice blasting beyond the contaminants being removed. Normally the coatings or contaminants can be swept or vacuumed from the floor beneath the treated object. Whereas chemicals and solvents create environmental concerns, and water carries with it the risk of bacteria growth, dry ice blasting produces zero secondary waste.

No Disassembly

Dry ice blasting is such a delicate process that equipment need not be disassembled during cleaning. Unlike media blasting and water blasting, there is no waste material produced by CO2 blasting. That means equipment can be cleaned in place, which should reduce plant downtime. In fact, if proper safety procedures are followed, most equipment can be cleaned ‘online’ to increase the amount of heat transfer during cleaning and maximize end results.

Environmentally Friendly

Dry ice blasting is an EPA, USDA, and FDA approved cleaning process, making it the perfect solution for most industrial and commercial surface decontamination projects.
