Industrial Sandblasting, Coating, and Painting
BlasTek LLC provides industrial sandblasting, precision coating, and high-performance industrial painting to help extend the service life of metal assets.
Since 2013, we have relentlessly focused on raising the bar for our industry — providing asset owners and construction managers with advanced surface prep, restoration, and protective coatings solutions that stand up to the harshest environments.
Who We Are
Industrial Blasting & Painting Done Right
Blastek has evolved from a sandblasting company into a full-service industrial painting and coating contractor — and we still blast every single day. We work with fabricators, general contractors, asset owners, and facility managers to deliver the right solution, on time and to spec.
Our in-house coatings inspectors draw on NACE, SSPC, and AAMP standards to make sure every project — from structural steel packages to tank liners — meets the most rigorous requirements. We know the details. We live for them.
Turnkey Project Management
Turnkey Project Management From containment planning and surface prep to final coat inspection and waste disposal, we manage the full scope so your team can stay focused on what matters.
Seasoned Field Crews
Our mobile teams take on the projects most contractors walk away from — complex field environments, occupied facilities, and technically demanding jobs that require real experience, not guesswork.
Full Media Arsenal
Aluminum oxide, garnet, steel shot, glass bead, crushed glass, baking soda, walnut shell, corn cob, and more — we select the right media for your substrate and specification, every time.
Full-Service Shop Facility
Our Shelbyville facility handles large-scale batches, oversized parts, and complex assemblies — with material handling equipment and a trained crew that runs both blasting and coating operations under one roof.
What We Do
Our Services

Industrial Sandblasting
Field and shop sandblasting for tanks, vessels, structural steel, and specialty fabrications — every job approached to spec.

Industrial Painting
The right industrial paint system installed on your asset — from large structural steel packages to tanks — in the field or in our shop.

Industrial Coating Services
Zinc primers, epoxies, urethanes, polysiloxanes, tank liners, and secondary containment — applied by technicians who work with specifiers and engineers daily.

Dry Ice Blasting
FDA-compliant, no secondary waste, and intrinsically safe — dry ice sublimates on impact, making it ideal for food, pharma, and energy facilities.

Grit Blasting
Precision surface profiling for etch, peen, deburr, and substrate prep — used when specifications demand a controlled, exact anchor profile.

Lead Paint Removal
Certified lead abatement from industrial and commercial infrastructure — advanced containments, engineering controls, and full OSHA/EPA compliance.

Dustless Blasting
Water-suppressed blasting cuts dust rates by up to 95%, eliminating costly containments and downtime while keeping your team and worksite safe.

Soda Blasting
Sodium bicarbonate blasting for low-tolerance substrates and restoration work — the gentlest way to remove coatings without damaging the surface beneath.

Mobile Sandblasting
From trailer-mounted field rigs to blasting steel air handlers deep inside an active hospital — our mobile crews bring the shop to your site.

The BlasTek Difference
Why Asset Owners Choose Us
Most industrial blasting and painting contractors focus on simply completing the job. BlasTek focuses on doing it right with solutions that align with your asset lifecycle goals. Our thorough pre-construction process sets us apart: before a single blast nozzle touches your infrastructure, our estimators conduct on-site assessments to evaluate substrate condition, chemical and environmental exposure, operational constraints, and maintenance budgets.
This diagnostic approach allows us to recommend coating systems that are the best option for your project, not just the cheapest spec or the most familiar product. The result is a finish that outlasts commodity contractor work by years, lowering your total cost of ownership and reducing the frequency of costly recoating cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
BlasTek coats a wide range of industrial assets, including structural steel, carbon steel tanks and vessels, piping systems, concrete secondary containment, industrial floors, water towers, fabricated metal assemblies, heavy equipment, and building exteriors. If your asset requires surface preparation and corrosion protection, we have a solution.
We work on both. Most of our projects involve existing infrastructure, recoating tanks and vessels, lining pipes, applying protective epoxy to floors, and remediating rust on structural steel. All projects are carefully scheduled around your operations to minimize disruption.
BlasTek adheres to SSPC (Society for Protective Coatings) and NACE International standards, from SP-1 solvent cleaning to SP-5 white metal blast. The appropriate standard is chosen based on your coating specification, service environment, and asset condition.
We apply systems from industry-leading manufacturers including Sherwin-Williams, International, Tnemec, and Carboline. Each coating is selected to match your asset’s corrosion risk, temperature exposure, chemical environment, and budget requirements.
Industrial coating projects require a thorough evaluation of substrate, environment, and coating needs. BlasTek provides quotes after an on-site assessment. You can submit your inquiry through our contact form to schedule a visit. For preliminary planning, we can often provide a budget range after an initial conversation.
